Description
Guided tour Opera Garnier
In 1860, a contest was launched for the construction of a new opera house in Paris. It was young architect Charles Garnier's project that was unanimously adopted for its exuberant mix of ostentatious and eclectic baroque architecture. Today, the Palais Garnier undoubtedly embodies the architecture that best represents the art of the Second Empire, and stands as a symbol of the luxury and pleasures of the French capital. 73 sculptors and 14 painters worked on it until its inauguration in January 1875. Measuring 172m in length and 124m in breadth, the Opera Garnier is the largest opera house in Europe, with the capacity to welcome more than 2000 people.
Led by a tour guide, you will be amazed by the rich architecture and decor of the Palais Garnier. Your visit will begin with the “Rotonde des Abonnes” (Members’ Rotunda) which was formerly used to welcome the audience, and where you will be able to discover the unique signature of the architect Charles Garnier amongst the arabesques. The mysterious Prophetess Pythia will greet you before you take the majestic “Grand Escalier” (Main Staircase), which brings you to the auditorium, the lounges and the foyers. The abundant decor, the splendour of the various foyers and the variety of materials used will take your breath away. The numerous paintings and sculptures allow the Palais Garnier to be not only a theatre but also a museum at the same time.
The Palais Garnier, being a show site, for technical or artistic reasons, we cannot guarantee systematic access to the Auditorium. In this case, a ticket valid for 1 year on an unguided tour will be offered as compensation by the Opera Garnier.

Quartier Montmartre - Paris
Your guided tour will start near the all white Sacre-Cœur, a recently constructed basilica (1914), the curious and eclectic neighbour of the Saint Peter of Montmartre Church, who oddly enough, is its opposite: one of the oldest in Paris (1147), purely Roman and discreet. You will then continue your visit by going to the Place du Tertre, the centre of the village and the haunt of caricaturists, and onwards to the Place Jean-Baptiste Clement, author of the famous “Temps des Cerises” (“The Time of Cherries”). You will go back down through the Espace Salvador Dali, which retains more than 300 productions of the artist and then you will pass by the vineyard of the Clos du Montmartre, until the cabaret of the Lapin Agile, that symbolises the bohemianism that was present here at the beginning of the 20th century.
Added to the city of Paris in 1860, Montmartre is an erstwhile village. From the sacred hill in ancient times, to the area of celebration and fascination that it has been since the 18th century, the "butte" (hillock) is a not to be missed area in Paris. Home to many artists (Toulouse Lautrec, Van Gogh, Picasso), it is a mecca not only of culture and religion (Basilica of the Sacre-Cœur), but also of wine (Clos Montmartre). If you need a delightful break from the relentless noise of the French capital’s traffic, enjoy wandering in the pedestrian streets, loose yourself in its many stairways, and listen to a concert, near the Place du Tertre.

Tour Eiffel - Paris
Accompanied by a guide, who will recount to you throughout the visit numerous anecdotes, go behind the scenes of this staggering monument. You will enter first into the former bunker hidden under the Champ de Mars. A true privilege, you will then slip backstage to the surprising and impressive engine room of origin which still controls the elevators. Arriving next at the second floor, you will be greeted by the amazing and unusual view that awaits you. As a VIP, you ascend the roof of the prestigious restaurant Le Jules Verne to exclusively discover an unprecedented 360° panorama of Paris.
On the occasion of the World Fair in 1889, a major competition was launched in the Official Gazette. The challenge was to study the possibility of raising an iron tower on the Champ de Mars, with a square base of 125 sq. feet and 300 meters high. Chosen from among 107 projects, was that of Gustave Eiffel. The work lasted two years, 2 months and 5 days. Since its opening, visitors can access the floors of the monument via lifts, a veritable technical feat for its time. Carefully preserved, this exceptional structural heritage testifies, till date, to the visionary genius of Gustave Eiffel.
