Yves Saint Laurent – TRANSPARENCIES
From 9th February 2024 to 25th August 2024
The exhibition, Transparences, le pouvoir des matières, is the second chapter in a story that began last summer at the Cité de la dentelle et de la mode in Calais. Among the forty or so textiles on show are iconic creations from Yves Saint Laurent's history of revealing the female body. The scenography, designed by architect Pauline Marchetti, explores the sensitive dimensions of space (curated by Anne Dressen).
Transparency was a recurring theme throughout his forty years of design, sometimes combined with embroidery or opaque fabrics. With audacity, he reconciles antagonisms and allows women to assert their bodies with power, not without pride and insolence. The exhibition, divided into 5 sections, reveals the artistic and sensitive poetry of Yves Saint Laurent: his creative rebellion against society's shifting taboos remains as inspiring today as ever.
By offering you a guided tour of the Museum before it opens to the public (11am), Cultival allows you to discover, under exceptional circumstances, this completely new exhibition and the realm of one of the 20th century’s greatest couturiers.
The Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris, which opened its doors in October 2017, is situated on the historic site of the former fashion house. It is in this unique setting that your tour guide will bring to life before you the fashion designer’s creative genius while you discover his works on display as well as Yves Saint Laurent’s own studio.
A unique visit to the museum before it opens to the public, a building immersed in a historic setting preserved within one of Paris’s most elegant districts.
