Discover the Army Museum's new exhibition Like in 1940... on a guided tour, after the museum is closed to the public.

For the 80th anniversary of the Appeal of 18 June and the creation of Free France, the Army Museum recalls a decisive year of the Second World War by highlighting the year 1940, marked by the resignation of President Paul Reymond, the speech of Marshal Pétain and the Appeal of General de Gaulle.

During this guided visit, you will discover the key moments of this year starting with the "phoney war" and ending with the signing of the Armistice, a major turning point in the history of France. Your guide will explain the impact of this Armistice on the French people and the division it caused between Marshal Pétain's Vichy Regime and General de Gaulle's Free France. You will experience the atmosphere of this year filled with twists and turns, and will be able to learn about the daily life of the French in 1940, the Resistance fighters, prisoners, refugees and the people of the North and South of France.

During this visit, you will discover rooms refurbished and dedicated to the Second World War, as well as the fully restored Historial Charles de Gaulle.
