Exhibition : Special Forces

Hôtel National des Invalides
Who are the special forces? Through an immersive and spectacular scenography, accompanied by your tour guide, you'll take an in-depth and intimate look at men and women with exceptional backgrounds and careers. The first-ever exhibition on special forces, this guided tour offers a general overview behind the scenes of one of the most secret branches of our military and examines their history and operations, from the Second World War to the present day.

Through interviews, the tour invites you to meet these exceptional men and women in all stages of their careers, from recruitment to training. The exhibition reveals their techniques and equipment on the cutting edge of technology, most of which are being shown to the public for the first time. On this occasion, you'll receive a rare glimpse of vehicles and equipment used in operation.

From fact to fiction, your tour guide will also address the issue of the representation of special forces in film, which has helped shape their image in popular culture as well as their mystique.
In addition to the tour, the 16 special forces will be presented on the pillars of the Court of Honour at Hôtel National des Invalides. Lastly, a new exhibit of photographs by Edouard Elias completes the tour.
