Description Workshop Espace Dali

Pupils will spend 45 minutes at the permanent exhibition in the Espace Dali following in the footsteps of the Catalan master amongst the 300 works which make up the only collection of its kind in France dedicated to one of the greatest artists of the 20th century.

The guide will explain to pupils how the artist produced works of fantasy by bringing together separate items, with the aim of reproducing the process of dreaming. The visit will cover his key works: the Mae West Sofa, the Persistence of Memory, Vénus à la Girafe as well as Alice in Wonderland.

It is then time for pupils to use collage to make their own work inspired by Dali's dreamland.
The "We're all surrealists" workshop is based on the exquisite corpse method. This is a game invented by surrealists which involves several people creating a sentence or a drawing without knowing what their fellow participants have done.

The main objective is for children to understand that ANYTHING can be a source of creativity in the Catalan master's work and that his surrealist approach involves transforming reality. The workshop will focus on putting this in practice.

Grade : CE2, CM1, CM2, 6ème, 5ème, 4ème, 3ème, 2nde, 1ère, Tle.
